The same vegetation and hilly landscape, the same curvy roads, green fields with cows and sheeps, it even smelled the same! You can't get further away from Norway, and this is what you meet – Norway's twin brother, we found it very strange.
Being on the other side of earth however, do give NZ autumn at this time, the wind from south is the cold one, and they have night when its daytime back home, obviously. Also they drive on the left side of the road, something we managed just fine;
We rented a car, with the intention to camp our way from Auckland on the north island – to Christchurch on the south. And we did spend most of our nights in the car, or at least half, during the three weeks we were there. Camping certainly has its ups and downs. (Thank god for op shops, were we found cheap warm clothes and awesome cassettes)
The car how ever gave us the possibility to go wherever whenever, something we loved. We saw a lot of beautiful nature, and it turned out the country had a lot of cool stuff to offer. Volcanoes, geysers, hot pools, beautiful beaches and of course the very special kiwi bird, which btw is much bigger than you think.
Check out some of the things we saw along the way!
NZ is known for being a paradise for adrenalin junkies, look at what these to junkies got to test out!
Ogo (Zorbing)
Skydive!!
We really had three awesome weeks in the car, with a lot of laughter, as brilliant ideas comming to live NZ is truly a place of inspiration.
